The State of Andhra Pradesh has started a scheme to supply nine essential and needed commodities / products in one pack for the poor just called as white card Holders. This scheme was called as Amma Hastam, which was ready to release on eve of the festival day of Ugadi. which will be launched by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The State is the first to implement such a scheme in the country to help the aam aadmi under UPA government, Under the scheme, 2.25 crore white-card holders will be provided nine essential commodities in one pack for just Rs 185 every month int he ration shops which all ready the previous products are issuing the in that shops by the ration shop dealers. This will benefit about 7.5 crore people, almost 90 per cent of the State’s population. About 2.25 crore white-card holding families are already having a immense scheme of taking a quality rice at Rs 1 per kg every month.

On the occasion of 'Ugadi', this scheme, Amma Hastam, is for every BPL family will be supplied one pack a month through fair price shops for Rs.185@9 Products. The Minister for Civil Supplies D. Sridhar Babu said 2.25 crore white card ration holders will get the pack, most of them has a doubt of what are the nine products for amma hastam for 185 Rs, they are : one kg of red gram, palmolein oil, whole meal flour, wheat, iodized salt, half kg sugar, tamarind, quarter kg chilli powder and 100 gm turmeric powder. According to the government, the market price of these commodities is Rs.292. Thus, each card holder will get a benefit of Rs.107 per month.
