Indian One Rupee Note is back again after 20 Years

Subject: New Indian One Rupee Note is back to circulation after two decades.

After a long gap of 20 years the one rupee note is back in 2015 with new security features and the printing is started again. The Union Finance Secretary member Rajiv Maharshi released it. Apart from other notes this one rupee note signed with the Finance Secretary as well as others will be signed with the Governor of RBI. In 1994 by increasing in the printing cost the One Rupee note was printing was stopped, and by 1995 the 2 Rupee Note as well as 5 Rupee Note was also stopped.

 Along with the circulation of new Re 1 notes, the existing currency notes of the same denomination will also continue to be legal tender.

The re-launched one rupee notes will be made up of 100 per cent cotton rag content. It will weigh 90 grams per square meter and have thickness of 110 microns.

  • This Newly Formed Indian Rupee will be 110 microns thickness.
  • Asoka Pillar will be in watermark ('Satyamev Jayate') words will not be included.
  • One Numbered Symbol will be middle of the Note.
  • On Right side Bharat(in Hindi) word is presented inside.
  • One Front side of the Note Finance Secretary Rajiv Maharshi sign will be placed in two languages.
